The Season of Growth: Summer Creative Poetry Retreat. What does Summer mean to you?  Is it the season most redolent of a carefree childhood?  This day course, suitable for aspiring or more advanced poets, will begin by exploring exemplars of the season, including Henry David Thoreau, Wallace Stevens and Seamus Heaney.  After that, we will begin crafting our own poems, inspired by the Summer setting of   Minsteracres Retreat Centre.  Lunch and refreshments included.

Meet Your Host:

Darren holds a BA (Hons) English & Creative Writing (1st class), a PGCE in Lifelong Learning, and has been an adult education teacher for 10 years.  In addition to teaching at Minsteracres, he offers residential courses at Dillington House in Somerset, Higham Hall in Cumbria and the Green Park Hotel in Perthshire, as well as Stoic retreats in Somerset, Northumberland and Morocco.  Darren also offers on-line courses at darrenharper.net .
